Lately I have been having bad dreams. I had one a few weeks ago that actually lasted all night. Every time I would close my eyes the dream would continue. It was horrible. I finally got to the point that I didn't want to go back to sleep...just knowing or imagining I might have that same dream again.
Over the past month I have been dreaming a lot about Doug leaving me or not loving me. I googled a search on dreams to see what people have written about dreams of this type. It means fear of abandonment or fear of someone not loving them. Well that struck home. I have worked through with my counselor the fear of abandonment that I grew up with. It apparently is now resurfacing in my dreams....It makes me wonder what in my life is making me go there? hmmm I'll have to think about that one you know?

I know that Doug loves you very much and I don't see this happening but as you and I both know our fears pop in even if it's a situation we know/believe won't happen!
ReplyDeleteI hate bad dreams that continue!! The are the worst!!!
Hope your night tonight is full of peaceful dreams.
I often have bad dreams, too....and fear is something that I have dealt with for a long time. My fears are different than yours, but our fear stems from lies of the enemy (that we believe). I actually went to a retreat last year, and we had to nail something (literally) to the cross. I nailed my fear down, and there have been times I've tried to "take it back." But- God is good. Anyway, this verse has been popping up a lot lately, so I thought I'd share it with you....."For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 2:7). I went to another retreat a few weeks back, and one of the speakers shared about how she would start saying this out loud....repeatedly, when she was afraid....until she could say it with conviction and have power. I will be praying for you. You have a beautiful family and you are blessed with a hubby who loves you and that cute kiddo!! :)
